Craig-y-Pystyll is the place to go if you want to fish for natural brown trout, off the beaten track surrounded by heather covered hills and moorland. You'll usually have the reservoir to yourself!
Like Llyn Syfydrin, the fish are generally small but beautifully marked. It is around 200m above sea level with around 1.5miles of bank to explore.
It is only lightly fished due to its inaccessibility, but can be extremely rewarding during a sedge hatch or when Cochybonddu or heather flies are on the wing.
Access is via a rough Forestry track which will take you to small parking / turning place, and then there is a 500yd walk to the nearest bank.
Fly fishing, spinning and earthworm fishing.
