Rhosrhydd

Rhosrhydd is a productive brown trout fishery that is trickle stocked through the season, fish grow-on incredibly well.

Slightly off the beaten track, anglers must use the access and carpark provided, which is about 200 meters along a track from the main road.

Anglers seeking seriously big brown trout should try either Rhosrhyddd or Llyn Oerfa. Whilst the weed in the lake is managed, from May onwards sub-surface fishing can be more challenging, but by then the lake is alive with hatching insects and rising trout - so dry fly fishing is superb.

Morning and evening rises tend to be the most productive. The fish here are canny, but can be caught at anytime of day with the right fly.

Three boats are available for boat permit holders.

Fly fishing only.
